Columbus, OHIO, January 12, 2015- An innovative enterprise from the College of Nursing at OSU, the Center for Transdisciplinary Evidence-based Practice (CTEP) serves as a leader and a resource to health professionals and healthcare systems. Comprised of experts in EBP from multiple disciplines, the CTEP team focuses on EBP to improve the quality of healthcare. In order to share resources globally, promote workshops, and build a membership system, CTEP hired Cynexis Media to build a custom website to serve all necessary purposes.
Cynexis planned, designed, and custom-programmed a robust and fully-responsive website for CTEP. The website features nursing department activities such as events, webinars, and conferences. By using the membership-based system, end users can purchase a membership, register for events, and take advantage of other department opportunities.
Cynexis built this website in Drupal 7, a free and open-source content management system (CMS), with Ubercart for the shopping functionality. As per OSU rules, we implemented Cybersource as the payment gateway. To maintain a good site performance, we used Drupal Cache with a file module. Other modules include: Views, Block, calendar, blog, forum, comments, contact, WYSWYG Editor, media, youtube, and Metatags. Cynexis also created several complex, custom modules for CTEP’s website for the event registration, with auto-login and register functionality.
To make the website responsive, Cynexis used HTML5 and CSS3 with the bootstrap framework. For the slider, pop-ups, and other animations, we used JQuery.
The Center for Transdisciplinary Evidence-based Practice (CTEP) is an innovative enterprise that fosters EBP for the ultimate purpose of improving quality of care and patient/family health outcomes.
